muntdefems: These kind of promotions don't pair very well with being a Linux user, but nonetheless I couldn't resist the urge and I picked a mystery game. Result: Gone Home, a game I already owned on Humble but which I never got to work properly. GOG's version, on the other hand, works like a charm.
Even though it might take a while for them to reply (a long while, I think I've read they fired a bunch of people recently), you should report broken games to Humble support. They're fairly helpful once you finally get their attention.
I highly recommend people do not buy the mystery game. I got the Longest Journey and I HATE adventure games. When you think about it, the chances of you getting something you DON'T want are far greater than something you do.
unless you love everything.

HunchBluntley: 'Post-dicting'?
Preticding?
Gemini Rue...point and click adventure
Hearts of iron 2
Gurumin

I doubt I will play either. Hearts of iron I would have tried 15 years ago... Now with work and family I just don't have the time for anything other than one or two top games.

I was kind of hoping it would pick some games from my wish list, oh well :)

Edit: just saw there is a list of games it picks from... Here I was thinking it is completely random. I don't care for 97% of those games. Oh well I got the free divinity for the $5 purchase, at east that was on my wish list haha.

Sim city 4 deluxe
Massive Assult
Crusaders kings complete

More backlog...
I got Evil Genius. Not a bad catch, all things considered. I've been looking to buy it for ages but always bought something else.

That game is awesome! I spent so much time with the game after I bought it. I love the main theme, too. =D

HunchBluntley: Thanks! I was actually thinking about starting a general sale tracking thread, since I hadn't seen one yet, but I don't suppose there's any point now. =) +1 for your effort.
Only one thing: in your researching for that spreadsheet, did you happen to notice which games/DLC are on sale that DON'T appear somewhere in the Winter Sale section on the front page?
Yes, I went straight to the "Games" page for the info. So I should have everything that is on sale. You will notice that I tracked down a few which were not on the front page and marked them in the "Other" column because they are "Release" discounts which started prior to this sale.
I got :

Anodyne (twice)
Dust: An Elysian Tale
Crimsonland
Gray Matter

I still have "Anodyne" code .. Going over to post it @ community give away thread.
I never try the "mystery game" sales, and this is exactly why.

Europa Universalis III Complete
Agarest: Generations of War

"Europa Universalis III Complete", which after looking at the store page, I would not have downloaded even if it was a free download. I'm sure some people like it, but I'm very selective on strategy games, and this looks about like the polar opposite of what I would ever even think about playing.

The other one, "Agarest: Generations of War". I do like JRPGs, but this sounds more like a strategic JRPG, more focus on combat, less focus on story. Which is the opposite way I like my JRPGs...But I MIGHT like this one, we'll see.

So, all in all, I'm not blaming any one, I knew as I clicked purchase that this might happen, mainly just pointing out the games I got to help people get an idea about whats there.

Though I see some people complaining about getting adventure games....I would have loved an adventure game.

No, I know you found all the games that have been on sale; I was asking if you happened to note specifically which of the ones that are discounted did not appear on the front page. I had counted the games included in the bundles and in the 'Daily Deals' section, and the total was 127; there are 138 games shown as discounted on the Games page. Of the 11 'unpromoted' sale items, I know 5 just from looking at the recent releases: the basic edition of Dreamfall Chapters and the upgrade DLC for it, the two editions of Valhalla Hills, and The Moment of Silence. As always, I'm curious to know what the other "hidden" discounts are, but not curious (or bored) enough to do an item-by-item comparison between the front page and the catalog (or MaGog), especially when someone else has already done pretty much all the analysis first. =)

Well, you can always ask Support to either give you a refund, or convert your unwanted games into gift codes which you can then trade for other people's unwanted adventure games in the appropriate forums threads. : )
