JustRigo: I have Divine Divinity to give away, also I think it wins the award for most redundant video game title.
Swen Vincke:
Long story short - contract had Divinity: The Sword of Lies in it. Publisher revised it to Divinity: The Sword of Lies (working title). The day the contract was signed, we were informed the new name was going to be Divine Divinity, courtesy of the CEO who just made tons of cash with Sudden Strike and now figured that any new title needed to have an alliteration in it, or so we were told.

We told them that was a stupid idea. They didn't like us telling them it was a stupid idea and they were also the ones checking our milestones so eventually we had to shut up, especially when inevitably we were late with a particular milestone. End of story, the person who came up with it indeed had poor taste in names and I agree that it probably cost us a lot of sales - most people thought it was a porn game.

Somehow that story reminds me of "Smell the Glove"

"How much more black could this be?"

mchack: hehe, that must be the most elaborate code drop I've seen yet :)

EDIT: Still, don't do that, please. :/ It's frowned upon, see OP.

DubConqueror: Not everyone agrees on that. Past sale, puzzles were mentioned as an exception that is welcome and allowed.
I see, thanks for the update :) Actually I was almost halfway through decoding the key, because it's so much fun to do, when I realized that I don't need to, because I already have the game and gave my bonus copy away :)
So point taken, thanks and if I ever feel I need to drop a key, I'll use this as an example how to do it ;)

I haven't played it yet, but I always thought from the title that it was a comedy/parody game and the redundant title was intentional...

Same here, I thought it was a satire to all Hack'n'Slash-RPGs.
It's more serious then, I guess.

Just shows (again) that the money is not where the brains are.

Nah, as previously pointed out, it's marketing stupidity at its finest. Great game, though.

And the title works better if you just think of the main character as being a really big fan of Stuckey's. "Mmm, that's some divine divinity!" ;)

DubConqueror: I think he's a frog, with a Santa hat.
avatar
PookaMustard: I thought he was an evil sinister human wearing a wizard hat and a Christmas hat on the top... :/
Damn pixelated art, always hard to make up what it is ;-)

I still got Divine Divinity on my 'To Play' wishlist - in my library the game is notorious for being owned thrice by me: first it was dirt-cheap on Steam, then I found it DRM-free on Gamersgate, then GOG came with a sale where I could get in in my GOG-library

and now GOG gave it to me as a gift that i will give to anyone who solves this puzzle. It's still not claimed!
