Is there any official support / lack of support defined for Mac-supported games on Big Sur? Specifically games like the Baldurs Gates and Planescape Torment no longer work. I'll also be interested if anyone has found a way around the issues, even if it's not an official solution.

Isn’t that because Mac dropped 32bit support? Would rephrase the question as why anyone still uses Mac? Windows is much better compatability and is widely used, and Linux is free and has growing support.

Hey, mods, how about banning people who insist on posting off-topic garbage time after time? There's simply no reason for worthless trash posts like this, and it breaks the forum rules. If you want idiotic PC vs. Mac debates, go somewhere else.

Anyway, to ACTUALLY ANSWER THE QUESTION, I guess you're talking about the originals? The enhanced editions are Mac-native and work on Big Sur. So the easiest solution is just to play those.

Haha, thanks on multiple counts. I see, yeah, I was trying the originals that I purchased a long time ago - on a mac laptop I happen to carry around with me. Looks like the enhanced editions will cost $20 each. I'm sure the those are the way to go anyhow, so that definitely helps. Sounds like otherwise I'll have to run linux in a vm or dual boot setup, which, would probably be more headache than just paying for the enhanced versions.

There is no need to buy Infinity games again. You can play originals using GemRB engine. ;)

As far as I know, it works on the actual 64-bit versions of Mac OS X just fine.

You should be able to play the originals with Wine, if you really wanted to for some reason. More recent versions of Wine (specifically work that the Crossover people did) run 32-bit Windows games on 64-bit MacOS, so you could download the Windows versions and run those. AlexTerranova's suggestion would be way better though. In any case you have multiple ways to run the games on Big Sur, so have fun!
