A good way to check for scammers is to do a quick forum search to see if that particular user has been active elsewhere. There are also several threads dedicated to finding and uncovering users that employ alternate accounts for entering give aways. If you think a particular user might be a scammer, just ask around. There are a lot of forum regulars that can usually identify when a poster is really a scammer.
