More discounts!

As of today also games from Bethesda Softworks are joining the Winter Sale on GOG.COM. Here are some notable examples:

Doom II + Final Doom (-70%) is a set of two cult first-person shooters that defined the whole genre. Defeat swarms of monsters using an arsenal of weapons and your reflexes.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition Deluxe (-70%) is an epic RPG title that introduced to us a truly vast fantasy world, filled with adventures and possibilities.

Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition (-70%) is yet another RPG, this time set in a post-apocalyptic world where every gamer’s decision can become a matter of life and death.

Discounts on Bethesda titles, as well as the rest of the Winter Sale, will end on 2nd January 2020, at 2 PM UTC.

fronzelneekburm: Kool!

Imma buy myself a copy of Dishonored, Dishonored 2, Prey, Rogue Warrior, Hexen, Heretic, Doom 3 & Expansion (non-BFG Edition), Skyrim, Rage, The Evil Within 1&2.

Oh wait, no I'm not... *sadface*
Heretic and Hexen are not Bethesda IPs.

They are Activision's if I'm not mistaken.

Activision was the retail publisher way back when, but I guess id Software owned the rights. Bethesda bought id, thus acquired the rights.

Check out the Steam pages for both games, they should list Bethesda as the publisher.

edit: Just checked these games on Steam myself, id is listed as the publisher of both Hexen and Heretic. So, yeah, it's Bethesda.

GOG.com: ...
My note to Bethesda: original Doom 3 + RoE please!

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games#order=votes_total&search=doom%203

Other than that I can recommend these:

Ultimate Doom
Return to Castle Wolf (though I had trouble running it on my Win7 machine)
Quake 1 Offering

fronzelneekburm: Don't forget to vote for this one too, pls!

Yeah, I know it's absolutely craptastic. It was originally launched as a full-price title, which is outrageous. But it's also one of the funniest games ever made and well worth the current $4.99 asking price.
To defend you, GOG did just bring Arabian Nights. However that one did have 2k+ votes and a popular GDQ speedrun behind it. RW only has about 50 votes, but it does have the Inside Gaming classic walkthrough (though most people who wanted it after watching the IG walkthrough probably got it via Steam).

Anyway I hope it shows up.

The thought of another "Christmas miracle" was too good to be true...

Still better to have more games in the sale than not to have them.

It always bugged me why the original is not available here, just that consolized BFG edition... yuck.

Can vouch for these games too, esp Q1 holds up with quakespasm and some tweaks, to get it as close to software rendering with some extra hardware effects that were missing, while having no blur/texture-smearing. Oh and it comes with NiN soundtrack on game ISOs, unlike the steam version. Sank good 50h in it earlier this year to fully explore it and beat it along with all secrets, extra levels and both expansions. What a wicked ride, just like back in the 90's!

Pete Hines, please add something new.

Must be time for a paradox sale, it’s been over a week now.
Wolfenstein 2009, please!!

Digital_CHE: Wolfenstein 2009, please!!
Activision published that one, so maybe there's a legal mess to fix.

Pssst, Todd, I had them all already!
If you want my money, I offer an exchange: from me - money, from you - Dishonored, Skyrim, Hunted: Demon's Forge, Prey, Commander Keen, Evil Within, Hexen+Heretic, etc. Anything! (Note: i will survive the absence of Fallout 76).

hows about some skyrim, doom 2016, and some other stuff?
Actually disappointed with the discounts

Return to Castle Wolfenstein + Wolfenstein 3D + Spear of Destiny for almost 3 times less on Steam.

Ultimate Doom, Doom 2 and Final Doom combined is more than 3 times cheaper there as well.

"As of today also games from Bethesda Softworks are joining the Winter Sale on GOG.COM"

Yeah there's a bug in the Bethesda Winter Sale Listing. Skyrim (2011), Dishonored (2012), etc, aren't showing up properly. Do I keep refreshing the browser, or is GOG going to fix that problem their end?...
Quake 3 + Team Arena is also almost half the price on Steam

And those are not even historical lows
Ugh. This is getting very irritating.

Either list all the additions in the news post or stop adding things. I'm tired of having to flip through 60+ pages of on-sale games to see if any catch my interest.

(This time, I'm just going to search "Bethesda" and see what my sale helper userscript lets through and, if I miss anything, so be it.)
