What game(s) should I be looking into if I want a decent theme park/coaster sim in 2021? Be really good if it has the ability to create custom items.
In the past I played the original Theme Park as well as Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 and 2 then I moved onto RCT3 which I spent a LOT of time playing (and REALLY enjoyed). I was in fact the first guy to write tools allowing for custom scenery and other custom item creation in RCT3. Some time after that I was a closed beta tester for Rollercoaster Tycoon World which wasn't very good (in no small part because at the time I was involved with it, it seemed like the devs were more interested in adding new content, new scenery etc than in actually fixing the bugs or making the game better).
But I haven't played any theme park/coaster sims in a long time and am thinking of getting back into it again. What's the best game to play these days? Is RTC3 still a good choice (I know a lot of people used my tools and others and produced custom items for the game and there was a decent range of custom items available, not sure how things are these days) or is there some other game that's better and/or has a more active mod community or better selection of scenery and other items?
