It's going to be 90% CGI and pretty meh, just like every other berserk anime movie.

But I don't care, because we took a break from the One Piece arc finally.

Its a teaser, this doesnt have to mean the anime is going to be made by the same studio...well, I sure do hope so.
I dont want the same, rather meh, quality the three movies had in terms of animation all over again, I mean they have learned from their mistakes, hopefully.

are the berserk movies any good?

I thought they always looked like poo (not just in visual style, but in execution and worthwhile content), and never even bothered with them.

Berserk is my favorite anime/manga (even though the anime doesn't finish.)

They're fairly faithful adaptations, but they're visually unappealing, and the first one is the weakest of the bunch. I wouldn't recommend them even to fans. At best, you get to see how the most familiar arc of the manga would look like if it was made as a really long cutscene in some game engine.

so weird...what we really need is episodic completion of the original manga!!!! why hasn't this been done?

I guess this might be an attempt to do exactly that. But it looks just like the movies, and that makes me sad. Even if they push the project to completion (=approximately where the manga is right now, say the end of the boat arc), I'm not sure it will be something I'll enjoy watching. Or even watch at all. I recall the recent Sidonia no kishi adaptation...gods no.

Definitely something to check out when the time comes.

Nothing is better than the manga.
As long as the manga ends, I'm happy.
It's cool of them releasing more things of the franchise, it will get more fans, but I don't really care about the movies and stuff.
The manga is a masterpiece that deserves to reach the end, before the life of it's creator.
