Last Monday, Oct. 1st 2018, Ben Daglish died from lung cancer at the age of 52.

Most people who lived through the era of the C64 probably know his name since he was considered one of the greatest game musicians on this system. He was responsible for many great game soundtracks like Gauntlet 1 and 2, Deflektor, Krakout, They stole a Million, Thing bounces back, Wizard Warz, or Zarjaz but especially the soundtrack to The Last Ninja will never be forgotten.

I hope he now rests in peace.

RIP Ben. I enjoyed your music when a friend was showing me his 64. Was amazing what these guys could get out of the sid chip.
Damn, that's sad to hear! :(

He was indeed one of the best musicians on the C64 and i still love listening to his tunes.

Rest in peace Ben, your music will live on.

Yep Gauntlet and last ninja 2 of the greats. It's funny but games these days just don't have that same sort of punchy feel to them.
This is sad new, indeed. Another piece of my childhood lost, not to mention a great musician and what appears to have been a nice man.

The following is a beautiful guitar arrangement for one of his songs from The Last Ninja that I've been returning to every one in a while over the years:

Vila i frid, Ben.
