It looks like the problem has resolved itself for me. Threads that were originally affected by the bug still look wrong at first, but once a new post has been made in one of those threads (by anyone, not just me), no more below threshold/greyed out. For most of the last hour or two, grey threads have been filtering out of the first page of the General list and at the moment, the only ones that are still grey are ones that I have actually read and have no new responses (and one that is actually below threshold).

Still getting the 500 error when trying to load the board (though not on threads). I guess that means the two problems were unrelated...

The 500 errors seem to be related to site traffic only. It comes and goes, but you can definitely see an increase during peak hours on the site. The threshold error appeared to not just be caused by traffic, as it persisted regardless of time of day. Considering they are making updates to the site soon, I wonder if someone working on that "tweaked" the coding and that caused the issue. Wouldn't be the first time a web developer thought they were doing something harmless that produced unintended consequences.

Actually, isn't that the specific job description of a web developer? ;)

Yay working properly for me now. I wasn't sure if they went too far in the other direction but looked through some posts in some other threads and found one showing threshold and yes It did appear to be down rated and for good reason.

So all ok for me hopefully this is global for everyone else too

Seems to be working for me too but now I'm not getting notifications for other stuff. :P
Yup, I can confirm that threads aren't arbitrarily greyed out for me anymore either.
Everything back to normal for me :)
Sorry for late update, but we've pushed fix for this issue yesterday even. If you notice this issue appearing again (it definitely should not) let us know in this topic.
