Beamdog's been busy dropping hints on Twitter like crazy for the last few hours.

https://twitter.com/BeamdogInc

http://planescape.com/

So, yeah, I guess this means Planescape: Torment EE incoming. Formal announcement is gonna be next week, based on the countdown on that site.

Might be a good idea to buy PS:T now before it shares the fate of BG, BG2 and IWD.

What fate was that?

I remember the grumbling but, not in to what regard...

No. No no no no no no. No no no, no no no no no; no no, no no.

Beamdog injecting their fan fiction characters into the first two Baldur's Gate games was off-putting, but easily ignored for the most part. Them doing the same to Planescape: Torment would be the foulest of heresies and I would never forgive them for it.

The "regular" versions became bonuses for their enhanced editions and can't be bought separately anymore.

We'll see how this turns out. My guess is it's gonna be like IWD, meaning they'll restore cut content and maybe tweak the gameplay in some way. Except that Torment seems like a bad candidate for this sort of thing, given how much the combat really isn't at the center of things. >_>

Well, they're bundled with the remakes, not technically gone from the store.

Store as in "storefront", not store as in "website". The library is not the store. ;)

Good. The less fooling around I have to do in order to get things working, patched, restored, and expanded is less time taken away from the game itself.

Oh no, what other games can they touch, after these? :\

The Beamdog case for me was as if some unskilled fanatical dude got his hands on famous classic paintings, started altering them based on his ideas and then resold them at 2x price..

I already have Torment on disc, and I don't even like it so it won't be any harm to me, but I get why people are upset. Regardless of whether the Baldur's Gater EE were great, horrible or middle of the road (I have not played them), making it impossible to buy the originals separately was a dick move.

I must be one of the few who don't mind the Beamdog products.

Let's see:

modern, fully scalable interface
smaller installer size
drastically improved save system
native Linux

Yup, I'll likely buy this one too! I can ignore their "content" just fine, and benefit from the rest of their work.

Planescape Torment doesn't need an extended Edition.
I'm glad I've already bought the original, wouldn't want to support Beamdog.

Damn, I was hoping they'd do IWD2 next.
