This week saw the public release of Skylords Reborn, a project to resurrect EA's 2009 hybrid RTS-CCG game BattleForge. EA gave its permission provided the team behind the resurrection does not make profit of it.

Warning :
The server is **VERY** unstable so far (when it is not full !), disconnections happen all the time. The team is working on it, and hopefully, it will improve soon. Some functionalities are still missing, but this is already a nice achievement.
This is not even the open beta yet ! It's the open stress test. So don't ask too much of it for now.

I thought that named sounded familiar! Here is Ross's Game Dungeon: Battleforge. He talks about the game, and the practice of killing games in the gaming industry. I wonder if he'll do an update.

I'm surprised about EA letting the project continue. It's almost as if there are two parts to EA. A huge monolithic "get ALL THE MONEY", "KILL EVERY STUDIO WE BOUGHT, THAT CAN'T/WON'T ADD LOOTBOXES", evil part. And an actual good part, releasing games on GOG, apologizing for past mistakes and promising to do better, apparently "?Origin and its support team is actually very good?".

Personally, I'm not surprised much. After all EA, like any company consists of many people. No reason to think that ALL of them are amoral jerks, who disregard employees and consumers, ready for every low to get some money grab.

After all, someone had released older C&C games for free, allowed RenegadeX and greenlit such projects as Dead Space.
