Elmofongo: <snip OP>
Had an in depth conversation with my barber about this film. He was a massive lore fan from the whole WoW series, whereas I played WoW to lvl 60 then quit in the early days.

There was an interesting question as to where Grom Hellscream is going to fit in. I was insistent that he died in WC3, but I was informed that there was a time travel plot in later WoW that brought him back.

Where do you think he'll fit into the film? He definitely was there, it's just a matter of what kind of character he was...

Grom Hellscream is in the movie:

As to that time travel plot that was the Grom Hellscream in what is considered the worst expansion ever to blight World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor.

The whole plot is that the main villain in the last xpac, Garrosh Hellscream, son of Grom, escaped justice and long story short somehow went to an alternate timeline and prevent the Orcs from drinking Demon Blood and then made a new Orcish Horde but with an advanced technology twist (Steam-punkish machinary) just to get revenge on the mainstream timeline of Azeroth.

I know its that dumb of a premise. We do get to see the Orc homeworld of Draenor before it became Outland though.
Ah, Elmo... where ya been, pal? We've missed you and your child-like fascination with colors and fast moving objects.

Sounds painful. I hope you didn't lose anything you were hoping to keep.

I also enjoy slower paced movies.

Yeah, but they cut out the scene where they have a lightsaber fight over the milkshake.

Elmofongo: I'll never stop being that guy to defend CGI in the echo chamber that is the internet filled with Practical Effects snobbery :P
Anything that can be done practical is usually better practical, but I would concede that there are certain things that can only be done in CGI. Like if they ever truly go ahead and make that Pokémon movie they've been talking about. For this one, I think it's fine as long as they don't pretend like the CGI looks in any way realistic, but instead go very cartoony and stylized with it.

My only experience with the world of Azeroth is probably that one month I spent playing Hearthstone and that's it. So I don't have any opinions on how well it may be adapted. I'm just rooting for this movie so that we have at least one cinematic fantasy franchise other than LoTR, which I seem to be the only person in that world who hates it.

Well have you seen the World of Wacraft cinematic trailers for their expansions such as Wrath of the Lich King and Catacylsm right?

Nope. I'll be judging the movie as a standalone story.

So is it considered a Spoiler if I show you these Cinematic Trailers because the movie takes place LONG before any of these sequences in the WOW trailers occured.
