HypersomniacLive: There's a new notification for the Acitvity Feed feature in the form of a purple dot that is blinking everytime something new appears on one's feed. Could we please have an option to disable it completely?
This would just be amazing. Since in most cases you have some friends meaning always some activity this dot is starting to get annoying. Would be great if we could switch those notifications to our liking.

Yeah well, I'm in the process of unfriending about 3/4 of my friends due the poor implementation of these profile features, but for the few that will remain, I don't care to be blinked every time they started playing a game, get an achievement, or sneeze. Even the notification within one's profile is poorly implemented - there's no "purge" option, it's designed so that you go and see what all those new activities are about. GOG's determined to turn us all into some variation of Peeping Toms.

Yes, it has a slightly Big Brother feeling.
Because of the "Galaxy suggests friends you would like to have even though you don't know it" feature I also now have too many friends. I thought it would not matter accepting those requests (I thought it would be cruel to reject these invitations) because I would always be able to block those if I should find out I don't like them but now with the profiles added ....too much information.
Luckily I don't have this problem as I haven't got a single friend. Yay!

I had that visibility box unticked since it was implemented, yet when that Galaxy suggestions feature was introduced I got over 20 friend invites within a few days. I still have that box unticked yet show up on friends public profiles in their five friends list. That setting must be a joke, and that joke's on us.

I took only a brief look at that page, and it was enough to deter me out of visiting it ever again. Now if I could hide that blinking dot too, I'd be content what this feature is concerned.
Scratch the being content bit from earlier. Thanks to Marioface5 post, I just realised that the account name in the nav-bar takes one to the bloody activity feed. The one I don't want to visit ever again in this lifetime.

If GOG doesn't change it back to link to the library, which they most probably won't, could you at least check if it's possible to fix it with BE, please?

Cheers

I second all of this.

There's a new update to Barefoot Essentials. After the new profile feature was added to the site I felt that there simply needed to be a way to keep that activity feed circle from appearing on the navbar. BE version 2.25 adds this option, but it's disabled by default so you'll need to open up the BE settings screen, go to the "Navigation bar" section, and check the "Hide activity feed notification" checkbox.

The other change in this update is that the "Barefoot Essentials" menu item under the account menu has finally been removed. To open the BE settings look in the "About" menu instead.

That's it for now. It's a small update, but expect to see a few more features added soon.

HypersomniacLive: Barefoot_Monkey called to the rescue.

Requesting a couple of fixes after profiles were introduced.

First one, the link and count to forum replies has vanished from the account drop-down menu in the nav-bar. Could you please restore it?
It has moved under the Community tab, but I'd rather have it back with all the other ones, if possible.
Good catch. I was wondering why the account menu seemed like it was missing something, but couldn't put my finger on it :p I'll see if I can do something about that during the weekend.

This is next on my to-do list for BE

Cheers for the much needed update, you rock!

I caught that because I developed a habit of comparing the entry in the account menu with the bell, and couldn't find either one. Shame, as forum replies notifications in the bell were one of the few features that worked well. Now we're back to checking the "My post" page which on top takes for ever to load.

Heya! Great work! Thank you for keeping the GOG forum comfortably usable. I was just thinking 'I should ask Barefoot, if he can suppress that activity feed notifier - when 'tadaa' the new update already did exactly that. Thank you again!
Thank you Barefoot_Monkey! I just turned on your notifications and after unchecking activity feed all those annoying dots were gone. I really like it this way. Thank you so much you are amazing. Did not expect this to be handled so fast.

Thank you very much. You're awesome! +1
What a relief to be free from that annoying blinking dot! Cheers again.
What dots?
