Backup account (for me) - buy cheap g2a (very rare promise) - want to buy it myself at a later date to prevent cashback fraud and suppor gog (currently no choice) i.e. second account buy from gog direct
TL;DR: As far as I can tell, the "report as spam" system is in the new "FORUM CODE OF CONDUCT" without documentation of proper use anywhere in any FAQ, yet its abuse is not tolerated.
—————
Ridiculously long and linked explanation:
—————
AFAICT, the new "FORUM CODE OF CONDUCT" doesn't have anything explaining the so-called "report as spam" system, even though it explicitly states it should not be abused and that there is explanation for it somewhere amongst all the different FAQ lists.

Underneath "WE DON’T TOLERATE:" the very first item is:
Abuse or encouraging abuse of the reputation system and the “report as spam” system - for the explanation of how our forum features work, have a look at the Forum and feedback section in our FAQs . </div> Notice the "here" link after the word "FAQs" goes the top-level "Policies and General Info" section. Even still, none of the titles is suggestive there is anything about the <span class="bold">"report as spam" system</span>. Specifically within the "FAQ: Forums and feedback" section, the only other page than "FORUM CODE OF CONDUCT" mentioning anything related to spam that I could find is that it won't improve a member's reputation.. So, no, no explanation of "report as spam" system as a forum feature, at least not that I could readily find in those linked FAQs.

The fifth item underneath "WE DON’T TOLERATE:" states:
Spamming, bashing, flaming, trolling, or abusing the reputation and/or “report as spam” function.
Abuse of the “report as spam” function is not tolerated, even though use of it is not explained anywhere.

I recall long ago it used to have an explanation, before the support pages got overhauled. I remember this because I wasn't using it correctly because I followed the explanation of other members of how it was supposed to be used. Pretty much whenever a post was off-topic. Then after some other members posted a link to the page with the official explanation I found out how it was really supposed to be used. Not off-topic, but more along the lines of off-forum, or in general "marketing", though it's often referred to as "scams". (Speaking of which, why not be more specific and call it "marketing and scams" instead of "spam" which gets interpreted too loosely as "anything not wanted"?)

Anyway, neverminding there curiously being two mentions of the "report as spam" system/function in the "FORUM CODE OF CONDUCT" itself, more importantly there is no explanation of that "forum feature" in any of the FAQ lists, even though:
• the FORUM CODE OF CONDUCT declares it's important to use the "report as spam" system properly,
• the FORUM CODE OF CONDUCT implies somewhere in the FAQ lists explains how to use it properly,
• the link provided doesn't lead to any such information.

At least, AFAICT…

Nope. Not at this stage, anyways.

well, given what public evidences and exhibits we would already have about G2A working, i am really really strongly against it

and i really advise people not giving it indirect support, when i see the damages it already did on some indie devs studios

sure in the end it's your call, but i would sincerely like you to think about reconsidering this, and i sort of like you less now too :)

By the way, especially with the cheat and spoiler section, we do need a spoiler tag for the forum. While Barefoot_Monkey has added one through a script, it is a client side tag, and it does depend on the client to be properly used. A server side implementation would be much appreciated, though no idea how easy or hard it would be.
Would love for you to poke the forum coders about it, just be careful that they don't poke back. I've heard that they bite.
I wanted to upvote OP but hit the negative button instead, then clicked on report as spam by accident.

Am I going to get banned now?

I can try, but it'll be months at best :)
Hmmm.... sounds alright mostly. Only thing that might be interesting to see how exactly it is handled is thread bumping. I mean, necroing something etc, yeah that is annoying. Bringing something back to the frontpage because things dissappear fast on the other hand is sometimes useful.
I think these new rules shouldn't be to hard to follow... but who knows.
Btw. GOG's missing a spoiler tag that's working for everyone, not just Barefoot Essentials/Adalia Fundamentals users.

That has happened to me once or twice too. Its like trying to get a QTE in and you press the wrong button.

I just meant that it was a new store i discovered and didn't really know how it worked but once i figured out what it was i stopped using it. It was a discovery process really. Just like gog, humble bundle etc I'm sure you understand. :-)

Djaron: Define "appropriate" ? same word can be appropriate or not, going from one country/culture to another. What is the common universal baseground ?

JMich: There are 5 general forums here, with different languages for each one. My understanding is to use the appropriate language for the forum you're writing on.
But I'm probably mistaken.
To me it means a more professional language & no use of slang, swearing or anything the belittles or makes fun of anyone's language in anyway. Language being an official language of a given country. So pig latin not allowed covered etc.

So can't say "F*** You!"... can say "I am oppose what this person is saying & find his statement offensive on a personal level."

Because pig latin can be viewed as attempting to make fun of someone; like in this case your comment can actually be considered offensive.

However I read it as a joke.

(And since it was directed at me, I am of the opinion, that no one else has a right to comment on if it was offensive or not.)
