By a coincidence I saw that a user called GOG.com had commented in a post on their forums...

I found out that apparently they have created an account there for some reason?

I don't know, why does any impersonation happen? Maybe they want to make GOG look bad, or are planning to upload torrents of games from GOG. It makes more sense for someone to pretend to be GOG than for GOG to seriously associate themselves with piracy.

Torrents of GOG games are already everywhere. GOG might be there to fetch pirates to the original, legit source. Also, KAT or any other torrent site, do not only host links to illegal torrents but legal torrents as well.

Why would anybody make a fake account called "GOG Staff" on GOG's own forum, and use the GOG.com logo as their avatar? Well, somebody did. Disbelieving that anyone would do such a thing because you personally wouldn't does not change the fact that somebody did do just that.
