Yes, if you use raw mouse input this shouldn't happen.

Do these games allow raw mouse input? It's been very long since I played them. I know I looked for the option in SiN but couldn't find anything.

surfersurfer: It's a pity that GOG doesn't set a link to the game forums on the game pages. Therefore most forums are deserted.
Sometimes I wonder if GOG is too lazy, too incapable, or if they don't want it for what reason ever.
It wouldn't make too much sense to link from the games' store pages to the forums.

However, they do link from the games' pages in your account to the subforums.
Just click on "More" and then on "Forum".

Depending on what secondary objectives you do / miss, the game may take an alternate route with some different levels for some time.
