Mr.Mumbles: *insert cryptic "Something went wrong" Windows BSOD error* ;)
Ranks right up there with "There was an unspecified error. Program terminated"
This happened to me once and the problem turned out to be on GOG's end. Once it was fixed, Support gave me a discount code so I didn't miss the sale discount I was trying to use.
Yeah, I'm experiencing this right now, it's not the first time it happened, usually it clears up in a day or so, and/or I just used PayPal, but now it refuses all payment avenues, as Gog blocked my card due to an anti-fraud alert (Thanks for the info Sarafan) it's not my bank as I don't use one as I'm retired/disabled, so I rely on the treasury Dept!

Also, when there's an issue with my card I get an immediate alert by phone/email/text, so it is definitely not on my end... I blame the fact that it's a long sale and Gog is pretty much been bombarded by various payment methods, so it may be wonking out!

EDIT: I was sure it was not my card, but it is as I tried buying something off site, so apparently you should never, ever purchase anything with your debit card when using a VPN! :P

HappyPunkPotato: I've just tried to pay for a game with my debit card but it keeps coming up wit hthis:

Something went wrong

HappyPunkPotato, Your payment attempt was declined by your bank because they require your confirmation, or additional information from you.
What should I do now?

Use a different payment source, if possible, like a different card, or PayPal.
Contact your bank's customer service center, to investigate this payment attempt in more detail. The issue most likely originated on their end.

I can't use a different payment source, what now?

If you wish to use the current card, make sure that:

The card's number, security code and expiration date are correct, and sufficient funds available on the card,
The card supports online, international payments (we're based in Europe), especially if it is a pre-paid/gift card,
The card's limit for online payments (number or total amount of funds) has not been exceeded.

If needed, your bank's customer service center can help you investigate the cause of this decline, and offer further assistance. When contacting your bank, you should use "GOG Limited" or "www.gog.com" as reference.

HappyPunkPotato: The issue is definitely not with my card and I've no idea why my bank would randomly block this payment. Is anyone else having trouble?
I'm still having this issue as well after a week. No payment avenues work. 2 cards, PayPal. I can't remember exactly but I think I couldn't put any money in my account wallet either. I'll have to try that last one again, though.

EDIT: Yup, adding money to my wallet doesn't work either.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I was able to add money to my wallet with my card in the end. Hope you get sorted soon too!

HappyPunkPotato: I've just tried to pay for a game with my debit card, but...
It's like GOG don't want my money.
The solution is quite simple.
GOG looked into the "Boycotting GOG" thread, saw your name on the list of boycotters, and decided to help you with your decision to not spend any money on their store.
These GOG guys are truly a nice bunch, aren't they?

Ha ha ha! I thought it was ironic when I posted it. I felt so guilty about pulling out of Secret Santa last time because of the boycott, I couldn't believe I was going to have to pull out again coz I couldn't pay for a game :D
I have the same problem (from December), tried with several cards, but neither one is working. On the beginning of the Winter sale I was able to purchase, but than suddenly I'm getting this error message. Today I also tried, but nothing. I've contacted GOG support in December, but no answer yet...
yeah, ive tried to pay with my card deck but they didnt accept :(

I gave up buying from GOG over a decade ago because my card would get frozen every time.

They route payment through Cyprus for tax evasion purposes, which triggers fraud protection. It's not worth the hassle and so GOG haven't gotten a penny from me for a loooong time.

Since I gave up trying to give GOG money so long ago, maybe it's changed now. But I just associate buying from GOG with a frozen card and headaches, so nope lol
