When I go to the front page, I'm going there to see the latest news. What I want to know is if new games appeared. I don't really care about all the other stuff that's there now.
So now I suppose I have to go directly to the forum, figuring that if some game big enough appears there's a thread, and I don't have to look at all the stuff on the front page.

This. The overall site redesign doesn't really bother me. Change is a part of life. However, Harrison Ford's face looming at me when I load the GOG front page is unsettling. LOL

I generally do not like seeing tablet design trend on my desktop. It feels like now I need to scroll a lot more to get to the stuff I want to see.

Those are problems / annoyances I have with the main page after spending 5 minutes there:
- automatic videos / screenshots on cursor hover is pretty distracting,
- pop-out + upscale effects on cursor hover are annoying,
- previously I used to go to the current sale page and use mouse wheel to scroll through the list and now I have to click to make scroll through several pages -_-. Not to mention that game names were presented not only with pictures and logos but with the name next to it which was clean and nice. Now it's just pictures and logos, need to hover for name to appear.
- "Now on sale" section flickers on scroll and falls apart when browser is in windowed mode - check attached file,
- almost everything feels too big on my screen(19", 1440x900),
- usually I open main page to check what's new, mainly scan through releases and sales - and now news are at the very bottom of the page and require manual scrolling beyond the 1st 3,
- I don't care for curated collections section one bit
- I don't care for discover games section ( I would've used it for the news section but popular is opened by default)

While it is not the worst thing I've seen and there are some positives here, overall it feels like a design inspired by win8 and I'm not a fan.

Or they could just get rid of those shitty "curated collections", that as of this moment serve no purpose other than cluttering up the front page. Maybe gog has some grander things in mind, but right now they offer zero valuable information.

The new frontpage is just crap.
Seems like they cutting down the staff that previously wrote the blog-like entries.

Honestly, there is no reason whatsoever to open that page.

I am too busy to ready previous 500+ posts now, so I will save it for when I retire.

Let me just say that:
1) in Firefox, I am unable to log in unless I intercept communication and manually redirect to login.gog.com/etcetc. Granted, my version is not up to date and I do not expect GOG to support old versions, but I do except a website to use least amount of force, so to speak, to achieve a task, i.e. the website should be able to _display_ login screen without using some new browser gimmicks it did not need and does not need to use, or even without JavaScript entirely.
2) Moving what used to be carousel of new releases to bottom is bad move.

Dear GoG:

1) Move the news closer to the top.
2) The animated game plates are "cool" but they're cool for about 10 seconds then they are very un-cool. Please have the option to make it a static image.
3) I do not need the carousal games to take up that much real estate. The older format (3/4 pane for new releases and 1/4 pane for sales was much better for me as a consumer).
4) Also, are daily deals no longer a thing? I use to like seeing those. It highlighted games I don't normally see which was kinda nice.
5) Also not a fan of the autoplay mouseover video. Again, it's "cool" in concept but annoying in practice.

The problem is the news would still not be immediately visible. The way it is now, at least you're guaranteed to get there with one keystroke.

The game releases need a forum link near the top of the page. I was looking for the forum link for the last sale and had no idea it was hidden near the bottom of the page.

Please, that'd require forum news posts to no longer be bugged and show time of last activity correctly. As it is, you may need to dig for them. Sometimes a lot.

I was originally indifferent about videos playing on hover, but now I am starting to hate that. I leave Galaxy running all the time, and now I have to be mindful of where I leave my mouse pointer or a video just plays over and over all night.

GOG improve your shit. When we asked for site improvements, we were asking for areas that were actually lacking. You did good with reviews (outside of not adding an edit feature like WTF?). But outside of that there were other places that were far more in need of actual improvements, instead you made it worse in places that really didn't.

In my opinion the individual game pages are better, especially the way they handle reviews, ratings, multiple game editions/DLC and game details (languages, system requirements). I'm a little bummed about the end of GOGMixes, but I guess I'm in the minority on that one so...

On the other hand, the new store front is a mess. Like others have noted, the news are wayyyyy down on the bottom, and navigation just feels weird on a computer. Reminds me too much of Windows 8.

I don't like it. It disrupts my usual experience of gog to the point where I don't want to use it. Where did the option go to show all the games that are currently on sale? Why do we have to see this giant header for each game only to scroll down for the actual content. Usability is worse.

Think about it. I'm used to going to gog and buying games a particular way. Done so over 200 times already. Now I have to learn how to use gog all over again. I didn't like the last design overhaul either. I want the *original* gog back. Simple, fast and easy (no comment re: analogies).

IDEA : Why not split test (marketing term) multiple designs and let the people pick which they prefer? It would take more work, I understand as I am a web developer, but it would end this contention and help to prevent alienating your customers. Website upgrades of this magnitude should be optional. Put the customers first.

I love Gog. And I appreciate all your hard work. But you need to think about the user experience. Don't expect your customers to jump through hoops to send you money. I hate to say it here but look at Steam. Steady as she goes.

You have some talented web people. BUT. You must give more thought to the user experience.

I am sure I will use GOG less in the future.
