IE is a the web designers' bane. It always does things differently to every other browser. If you have any kindness in your heart for poor web designers, find another browser you like.

Well, I thought maybe you were onto something when I went in and cleared the flags and then went to home page and it was fine. And it remained fine the last several times returned to the home page. But as I stated before, it doesn't happen every time anyway, and just now when I returned to gog, so did the shift to the right (as you can no flags showing up at all).

OldFatGuy: Yeah, I guess you're right. There's probably some correlation between how often one has problems and how "tech challenged" one is. I suppose I'm proving causation.
In my experience the graph of experience versus problems is a bit of a U. If you push past the middle you get all sorts of problems.

As for the topic, I have a lot of issues with the site, but that's not one I've had.

I's happened to me a few rare times. I just laugh and think that GOG's site is crumbling and falling out of place due to pressure.

Anyway, haven't had the problem for ages now.
