So I'm looking for recommendations for browser games, preferrably turn-based and lightweight, which don't require a player's constant attention. Something I can play that allows me to also monitor other stuff and goings-on without completely distracting me. Lately I've been mostly engaged with cardgames.io again, which even features a decent Mahjong Solitaire and Minesweeper variant.

Are there any other fun and good ones out there?
Tiny Heist by Terry Cavanagh is fantastic. It's a turn-based, stealthy roguelike.
I could mention Cookie Clicker.

For active play, you just check back periodically to see if there's a golden cookie to click, and then click it. (Eventually, this happens every few minutes.) Later on, you can enable a sound to play when a golden cookie spawns.

If you just keep the game running idle, you will still accumulate cookies, albeit at a slower rate.

There's also the garden minigame, which is rather interesting; you need to check back occasionally (how often depends on what's growing and your choice of soil), but it's not something that needs constant monitoring.

(Also, things actually *do* get more complicated, eventually.)

There are other idle clickers out there; I can't vouch for them, but the basic idea should be the same.
Here you go, 39 or so low pace puzzle games.

Nevermind the botched URL, just go there and give them a try.

I'm right playing now to cookie clicker!

Earlier I was playing Clicker Heroes (http://www.clickerheroes.com/), same concept
Is Urban Dead still around ? It was fun when it was super crowded.

Shartak and Cthulhu Nations were cool too.

Apart from that, there are many Cube Escape and Creeper World games available online (on ArmourGames or Kongregate).

This is what I play: https://oskarstalberg.com/Townscaper/
Fallen London is the best text-based Web game I’ve tried so far.
By the team that would later bring us Sunless Sea and Sunless Skies.

Cut The Rope

Yes very helpfull indeed.

After 3 years Mr.P.E.S.Mumbles found lot'sa games but here is one more (not exctly a game) https://www.retroarch.com
Epic Quest. Not to be confused with the Epic War series, it's a turn based RPG where you can do a battle pretty quick, and save any time you aren't in one. The only thing is the battles can be challenging and the later ones can be time consuming. I'm not sure if this is a deal breaker for you, but if you like games like Pokémon, you might like this one as I did, because, with the exception of the final three bosses, any enemy you fight can be added to your party at a shop.

Don't advocate Retroarch. They're code thieves, and bullies, the lot.

The head of the Retroarch Project even openly bullied near, creator of BSNES and Ares.

Speaking of Ares, that would be a worthwhile replacement, if not Bizhawk.
