Dear GOG:

Please do not accept Lovely Planet Aracade, due 2016, into your store. The developer, QuickTequila, has refused to forward updated builds of his original game to GOG and calls the product you are currently selling "inferior."

Warm regards,

budejovice

Anyone can make accusations. I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just saying that with no references, your post has little to no impact.

How do you know this? Details, please.
A few games on GOG go without updates since the devs mostly allocate their attention to Steam. Lovely Planet, although a great game, did not receive an update giving the game OS support and access to the leaderboards, the devs kinda used GOG as a cash-in, rather than a community, so it'd be understandable to demand equal treatment. budejovice: Lovely Planet
You want Lovely Planet, you say?
I have a key for ya, but it's only for Steam.
As the previous game came up on sale, I'm genuinely interested in reading that supposed email from the dev about gog's inferiority.

Darn, I traced what you said in the thread I made ages ago about outdated games (do not revive, dead). Hyperagathon pointed that the game was at 1.31 and the Steam version was 1.4x. You replied to that saying the dev called the GOG version inferior, and I said 'I remember seeing that somewhere'. Now, if I can just remember where I remember that from haha.

I'm seeing if I can find anything in Magog's logs...
edit: well, Magog doesn't like me... completely froze my internet window.

I would have thought any agreement between a dev and GOG would have included responsibitility for continuing updates (even if not timely..)

Which is funny, because it's inferior due to their lack of patching, not because of GoG.

No I just made that number up, though I can't imagine it sold more than a couple of hundred, I mean just look at it

Why Minecraft? Can't say whether it's bad ( haven't played it ) but it doesn't look much like Minecraft to me.

I've played it. It's not bad by any means, it's just incredibly simple and is the FPS version of those "precision platformers" where you die twenty times while figuring out how to correctly get through a 15 second long level. Graphically it looks almost nothing like Minecraft. If anything it looks about like an Nintendo game, low poly models with decent quality textures, definitely nothing "blocky" like Minecraft.

minecraft? ... one is a voxel sandbox survival game, the other is a time attack FPS. where is the similarity?
