MarkoH01: Thanks GOG and Dreadlocks Ltd. but I have to join the bandwagon and say (especially to Dreadlocks Ltd) that I'd rather receive the missing update for the game I already paid money for than getting another outdated version for free. When I contacted them in
06/2020 (!) they even apologized:
"Dreadlocks
Hi Marko, you absolutely right. The update was postponed and delayed for the complicated COVID situation.
We resuming our support development now and we will try to deliver it as soon as possible. Sincerely
Dreadlocks"
Unfortunately their fedinition of "asap" differs a bit from my definitoin and after this obviously empty promise they prefered to ignore me (see attachment) completely.
@GOG when will you finally tell your "partners" that they have a responsibility here on GOG as well? Your customers are the ones who suffer because of missing updates in the end. It might be bad for you if those unresponsible "partners" don't like you that much anymore when you ask them to do what they are doing voluntarily on Steam - keeping their game up to date after having been paid by the customer - but
without your customers GOG would not even exist ... no matter how nice you treat your "partners".
Enough is enough ... are you really okay with GOG being the one store known for "
many games stay unupdated and you can never be sure that this does not happen with the game YOU just purchased"?
I think many would like to know why GOG is giving away a game that has been out of date for 3 years at this point. Does it matter to them at all? How does this look to new customers that a game the store front is giving away doesn't even have the latest bug fixes applied? I mean this is disgusting.
I'm sorry, but this need to be said, a hell of a lot of the people praising this need to wake the fuck up. Givaways are the store giving you something, and in doing so one would expect those to be representative of the store as a whole... and if they're giving away inferior products, what kind of message is that sending, particularly to new users?
