Could it be this? I haven't seen it so going by the wikipedia info it came out in late eighties, has a hero whose village was wiped out by the villain's forces (he's not the main character though) and looks like he has no scars though.

Flying Witch - Only seen 2 episodes so far, but has some laughs. A witch comes to live with her extended family, of which, the younger sister doesn't know that witchery exists. The witch is directionally challenged, not as badly as Ryoga Hibiki from Ranma 1/2, but still can get lost in the house.

Dagashi Kashi - A 12 episode series about a kid whose family owns/runs a candy store. He gets a visit from the daughter of a large candy company who wants his dad to come work for them, but needs to get the kid to take over the family business (when he's more interested in becoming a manga-ka). It's interesting from the standpoint of learning stuff about Japanese candies/confections.

I just finished watching Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood for the first time. I was already familiar with the 2003 version of FMA but.. Damn, Brotherhood was just so good. After watching a bunch of so-so anime, that was just what I needed.

Manga intend to try?

Maybe. I think Brotherhood adheres pretty close to the plot of the manga, so I may take a break before reading it. I don't want to tire myself out on the franchise by revisiting the story right away.

Project A-ko, and the sequels were pretty good. The first movie had the best animation, and in terms of quality, it's 1, 4, 3, 2, though they have continuity between the movies, so it's best to watch them in order. Project A-ko Grey/Blue series was only okay, and in an alternative continuity, and can be skipped.

Tenchi Muyo! was pretty funny. I prefer the first few "movies", the second set of "movies" weren't as good. The tv series was good, but also in an alternate continuity.*

Demon City isn't bad if you're looking for a bit of the 'ol ultra-viol.


*What is it with Japan and reboots? Probably the same mentality that involves giving RPG enemies a new paint scheme and treating them as a new enemy type.

Fate/Stay Heaven's Feel gonna on air. Soon. Well.... soon in 2017.

Since it's based on its VN, it's gonna be good. Let's just hope it has English localization. =x

Just watched Hai to Gensou no Grimgar. Loved it, the pacing seemed a bit fast at some points but other than that I love the way it took a very down to earth perspective on what we usually take for granted in rpg's.

I'm over the whole "teleported to a game setting" anime theme. Its getting played out worse then moe.

I'd still recommend it. In the whole season it barely plays a part, apart from the fact that you can tell they're from the real world because they slip up with real world words every now and then, they don't remember that world and it's basically about them starting up as a newbie party to live and survive in an unfamiliar world because they need money for food and lodging etc.

I'd say it's unique enough in it's approach to give it a shot despite the 'familiar' theme. At least for the first season.

Hello guys! I have two questions to ask.

First, has anyone here watched Girls und Panzer together with its OVA (Girls und Panzer der Film)? If yes, you might just be able to answer this second question of mine, I guess. Before asking the question, let me tell you that I have also finished watching the OVA. After I had finished watching it, feeling not enough and wanting more, I randomly searched around the internet for this OVA just to find that there is actually another episode of it called Girls und Panzer der Film: Arisu War!, which I have yet to watch. My second question is, if anyone here had watched that episode, would you kindly tell me where did you watch it? A link would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! :)

I guess this belongs here too. I have to say, I am loving Dragon Ball Super, even more so now it's finally moved past what the movies showed. Every time I watch an episode time just flies by and it's over way too quickly :D

Started watching Danganronpa. (not the adaptation of the first season)
The first episode was alright.
Just want some closure for these characters which they won't get in the third game.
Guess I'll have to watch all of it anyway. >_<
