I have to admit that I really like Gundam Seed and G Gundam.
But have you watched Getter Robo Armageddom? It's quite a forgotten classic but it doesn't hold a candle to the nearly perfect Giant Robo:The Day the Earth Stood Still.
Watching Corpse Princess now.
No love for Gintama in here?
gundam war in the pocket was surprisingly sad

ElPrimordial: This great thread grow so much that it takes too much time to search each individual post to get every recommendation... I think its time to make a master list but I wonder: who will be that "brave soul"?
you could always search the ratings on MAL or something.

It was especially how pointless his death was that struck me

basically the whole point of the anime. that and a cute independent woman piloting a giant robot.
Finished Corpse Princess. The ending was... unsatisfactory, to say the least. Would still recommend to anyone who wants to watch something light, with decent action and some reasonable amounts of fan service.

Gonna watch Gunslinger Girl next, don't know much about it, going on a friend's recommendation .

i would recommend the manga instead. it does have a rather lame hopey-changey ending though.
eh the first season is fine, it's just the second and on that's low budget garbage.
After my friend told me to for ages, I started black lagoon.

(Hearing all those VA from gundam 00 makes it feel a bit odd sometimes)

Black Lagoon is good.
Its like a Tarantino film, but more depressing and with a little bit more black humor.

sooooo, B3. not to be confused with C3 or C^3

pretty much ''nightow tries to do some sort of FLCL/MIB mashup"

on one hand, bones did a pretty good job in terms of style for the most part. on the other, bones pretty much boned it up.
The first season of Gunslinger Girl was a masterpiece. If I had the standard range of human emotions I probably would've cried at least once. I started watching the second season, but 10 minutes in I couldn't go on because I felt a horrible pain in my scrotum for every second I kept watching... Then I read they switched studios - the first one is from Madhouse, which is the best anime studio out there, while the second one is from a mediocrity called Artland.... Very sad. Will probably finish that one day, but not now. It would be too painful now .

Gonna go for that Gakkou Gurashi! thing that everyone's been talking about.
