Not in and +1.

I've played BG and IWD and prefer IWD a lot more. The original Baldur's Gate is a bit punishing towards newbs at first. It encourages making a Fighter class character because of your low health and poor hit rate early on. And back in the day it had 5 CDs you had to swap constantly.
Not in and +1.

Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 mostly focuses on story and characters. Icewind Dale is more action focused and less on the story.

I'm in. I am entering out of curiosity more than anything. The name Baldur's Gate seems to be mentioned regularly around here and I have never played it.
I'm in for Icewind Dale^^

EDIT: I made a little mistake, corrected it. Btw, thx for the giveway

Count me in! I've always been interested in playing these games, but I was always stuck between choosing the original or enhanced editions.

It is nice of you to give them away. They are worth it if you like the setting.
high rated
Hey, I've also got codes for these games lying around. If you'd like, I could send them to you, so you can give away two sets of games? If you don't want to, that's fine too.

Sure, I'll give them away for you.

Ophelium: Sure, I'll give them away for you.
All right, I'll send them to you in a PM.
I participate for Amadren! I already own all of them! Excluding EEs. For me, no EE exists for those classics.

I am in for BG2 and IWD, already have BG1. +1 for the giveaway as well.

PookaMustard: I'd like to hear about Baldur's Gate in general before entering (as well as IWD). The games seem to be mentioned everywhere (both positively for the games themselves and negatively with the release of the DLC), and they look like stars here on GOG. I'm naturally curious about them, about their gameplay, etc.

omega64: Real time with pause.
The Enhanced editions offer a mode that makes your characters immortal. (which I'm using as I hate the combat)
woah, really? That's nice. I wish I would have never wasted my time with the game, honestly (unrewarding story, cliches, meh world, not bad overall if you remove the combat, though.) My biggest issue with BG and BG2 is tedious monotonous unrewarding combat ALL OVER THE PLACE. It's annoying to me, and the reason I never finished BG and only played BG2 once (suffering through it to get through it because I paid good money for it when it was released.)

Breja: Uhm, actually BG uses 2nd edition rules. As does BG II and the first Icewind. ID II uses 3rd edition.
avatar
nightcraw1er.488: You are quite right there, am wondering what I remember seeing then? Anyways, yes 2nd edition.
The enhanced editions have a new D&D logo on them, implicating the 3.5 ruleset. Neverwinter Nights 2 also uses 3.5e. Not sure about NWN1 as it was 3e I think... Too lazy to Google on my phone ATM.
