Has anyone heard of the game "American McGee presents Scrapland?" I've just heard about this game today and it looks like it was way ahead of its time! It was a 3rd person game with a futuristic atmosphere, including flying vehicles! It looks like all of the inhabitants are robots.

Has anyone played it before? Here is the GOG wishlist for it. It has over 500 votes!
I remember it was a lot less interesting than it looks. First time I've heard about it since I played it back then, it was fairly visible around it's release.

So it wasn't very good? I've read that it was released around 2004, but I never saw a box for it back then. Was it just a puzzle game?
I bought the retail version about a decade ago, but only played for about two hours. It looked pretty impressive, but the gameplay was very boring afaik.

There's a demo available if you want to give it a whirl:

And there's a post in the "unofficially confirmed" thread from back in March, so we'll see how much longer it takes for anything to come of that:

And if you gotta have it now, it's ostensibly DRM-free on GamersGate.

Now that's interesting! I wonder if this game might have a chance to show up on GOG. :P
Well yeah, I heard about it and played it back when it was released on the original Xbox.
I didn't play it for very long though, so something must have put me off it.
There's also someone on these forums who's completed it recently.
I quite enjoyed it. I'm not sure what I went in expecting (potentially a cross between GTA and American McGee's Alice), but once you get rid of those preconceptions, it's an amusing arcade flight game crossed with some on-foot exploration. Some of the game mechanics are a bit thin and some of the plot elements underused, but other than that it's an amusing diversion.

I bought the DRM-Free version at GamersGate quite a while ago but haven't tried it yet.

I vaguely remember it, but as was already mentioned by others, it wasn't as interesting as it looks/sounds. I played it for a short time, and thengot bored of it, and totally forgot it exists. When it comes to American McGee's Whatever, Alice is the only thing we really need here.

Same. I actually have it installed, set up to run in widescreen, etc. but haven't really played it yet (aside from flying around in an empty multiplayer map for a bit).

I saw a YouTube video of some of the gameplay and it immediately reminded me of The Fifth Element and Judge Dredd.
Just installed this today, found my old discs (had to use a crack because Starforce doesn't work in Windows 10) and got it running with just one issue, the videos seem to play twice as slow as the audio. Setting Win95/98/Me compatibility fixes that though so apart from that the game seems to run fine at my res of 1920x1200 so can't see why this shouldn't be on GOG!

Also setting a custom profile for the game and setting Antialising FXAA On in the Nvidia driver gets rid of the jaggies :)

Forgot how good this game actually is, yes it is a bit repetitive but so are most of todays games!!

Voted for this in the Wishlist so let's see it on GOG!!
