Awesome!

Nothing to report, except my utter joy at getting a warning when trying to search the "what did just update?" thread without setting the first/end pages.

Glad you like it, it was specially for you :)

I've left it so everyone can set their own limit on when the warning appears (I'll happily search 100 - 200 pages when I want to, but I hate when I do it by accident because I forgot to set an end page...)

adaliabooks: Next update is here :)

I've made a couple of small changes to the search stuff (a warning and prompt to cancel a search if it's over a certain number of pages, which you can set; and start and end page searched added to the results block) as well as adding an option to hide the advanced options, and an option to hide the search bar entirely.

[...]

Done!
I've just set it to be turned on and off from the menu as I couldn't find anywhere to put a button to show it that didn't look cluttered and out of place.
If anyone objects or has a better idea I can change it though.
Cheers, will update and test in a bit.

Regarding the on/off button - where were you thinking of putting it?

Well, either next to the search and new topic buttons at the top of the thread / forum or at the very top next to my posts. But they both looked cluttered, and as the buttons GoG uses are images it's hard to make it match with the page style too...

Though I wonder if putting it floating off to the side in all that empty space might work too...

But even without a button it's not too difficult to turn on and off through the menu.

Love the solution for hiding/showing the advanced search options.

I'm not a fan of floating buttons/bars/whatever, but perhaps you could add a button similar to the one for the advanced options at the left or right edge of the top bar (to the left of "Community" or to right of the "new topic" button)?

Also, I had not noticed till now that you've added the little "New replies" gear to the search bar, that's pretty neat.

Thanks, I wasn't sure how to do it as putting Advanced Options underneath the search boxes would take up the same amount of space and therefore be redundant... but I thought that was nice and subtle :)

Yeah, me neither. I'll think about it, there's bound to be somewhere I could hide a little button to turn the bar on and off (I want it to be unobtrusive so it doesn't annoy people who want the bar off).

That's quite an old feature, admittedly I've only just realised it's not 100% effective as it can also count posts that reply to replies to you... but it mostly does the job.

As I said, I love it, hence I suggested you go about the other button in a similar fashion.
I'm lazy - I'd appreciate a button to turn the search bar on and off instantly with as little effort as possible.

Haha, goes to show how much attention I pay to the right part of the bar.

Doing an amazing job with the script, adaliabooks, thanks again!
OK, something weird is happening with the reviews, and would like to know if it's just me (again).

I have it set to show all reviews, sorted by date, and to show the complete content of each review.

I see the content of each review twice, the collapsed version (with the "Read more" at the end) first, and followed by the full text.

Anyone else?

Not me. Tested the same configuration on Planescape and had no problems.

I've a suggestion for the "hide/show" button. Why not put a very small, darker grey reversible little triangle in the empty space at the bottom of the search bar, right in the middle underneath the text box for "first page" that could collapse the search bar. I don't think it would be distracting at all to have a little unobtrusive triangle hanging over the thread topic title and under the color scheme.

If you still don't want to do that, is there any way to add a small button at the top of page in between the color schemes and My Posts? It could be disguised very nicely there and made to match the style that GOG uses already.

Just curious here, and I noticed the same thing in the Barefoot Essentials, what is the "Change Style" option for? There is only one option, Light.

Does it happen every time? And with other settings too?
What game page is it?

I'll look into it and see if I can find any issues.

I'll give that a try, sounds like it might work.

Hehe, I'm not sure if Barefoot actually intended different styles at some point, but basically the loading of all the CSS for the menu and pop up happen in a function that is bound to the value of that option. I could have changed it and removed the option, but I'm lazy... XD

Don't bother, I had added Eli's code to my GOG style, and apparently it conflicted with the option you've added to AF (disabling either one fixed the issue).

I've removed the code from my style, and things seem to work as intended now.

Sorry for the i̶n̶c̶o̶n̶v̶e̶n̶i̶e̶n̶c̶e̶ the false alarm.

Lol, glad it's sorted at least.

And I've got my eye on you.... you know why... :P

Anyway, small update. I've added a button to switch the search bar on and off next to the Community link / label as suggested. It's actually appeared at the top and bottom, which wasn't particularly intended but may not be a bad thing (I'm wondering if there should be a search bar at the bottom too?)
I've played around with some hover effects, but I'll get rid of them if people find it annoying...
I also wasn't sure what to put on the button (didn't really want to confuse things by putting the + and - on like with the advanced options) so I just went with AF.

Small secondary update to remove the bugs added by the first update.

I knew there would be a reason for the overflow:hidden property... XD

Due to changes to how it works the button no longer displays at the bottom of the page, only the top.

I wish I could express my appreciation for your work in a more direct way but I'm currently literally broke, so that is the least I can do for everything you're doing for us.

Ha, I wanted to suggest AF as the text for this button. I like it, and I don't mind the hover-over effects, but can live without them if others would rather not have them.

I would also suggest against a search bar at the bottom, things are cluttered enough there as it is.

And may I suggest a different colour for this button? If you're going for the colours of the old GOG logo, perhaps use the (darkest shade of) green?
