Well, as the title says, I was wandering how possible it is to see achievements in games already in the catalogue. The only case I know is of Daedalic which update Deponia games and Edna n' Harvey: Harvey New Eyes with achievements. Will any games/companies follow or it's just for new games from now on?

Yes, companies have retroactively added achievements to their games on GOG.

Examples that come to mind are Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, Sword of the Stars: The Pit, Tales of Maj'Eyal and This War of Mine.

Oh fuck.
I stopped updating my gogmix because GOG introduced the achievements tag. Turns out they were lying.

Maj'Eyal didn't introduce achievements "retroactively". It has had in-game achievements way before the GOG release. But there are no Galaxy achievements for this game and never have been.

Interesting... I didn't know that GOG was counting in-game achievements as being part of the "Achievements" feature.

They don't. Among my owned games (I have an illegal number of them and should probably buy something soon), it's just Maj'Eyal with its DLCs and Democracy: Africa. Democracy: Electioneering (the DLC I don't have) is also a candidate.

edit: meanwhile, it's quite possible there are games which actually have Galaxy achievements but don't have the achievements tag. Quest for Infamy could be one such game... except it only has two Galaxy achievements, both are secret and probably don't work, so I believe the absence of the tag is justified. I'm not going to go game by game though, Galaxy navigation is just soooooooo slooooooooow.

Thank God it does, otherwise this store would be unusable.
As long as I can choose not to get GOG achievements, I don't care.

I hate this type of store added crap, and don't want to see any of them, either in game or on the store.
I've no problem with them existing, as long as I can switch them off.

I agree. I don't mind if they are somewhere in the background for those who care. But I hate pop up messages in the game "You got an achievment!!11!!" Especially in RPGs. It breaks the game immersion each time.

I don't even want them in the backgound, just an on/off switch to remove them, if they are on by default.
