Why do I always have a number 5 sitting behind the "Account" tab?

When I point at it a dropdown menu appears which then has a number 5 sitting behind "Library".
When I then go to library I get to see all my games and some of them have a blue dot behind them which I suppose indicates that they are somehow updated.
When I click on those games one by one, the blue dot disappears, however no matter what I do, the number 5 keeps sitting behind "Account" and "Library".

What is this number supposed to indicate?
More importantly, how do I get rid of it?

Honestly, that number had been sitting there for god knows how many months and I've been going into that library often enough.

Suggestion!
Maybe it would be better if the number would disappear when you go into the library but the blue dots would stay until you selected the games.

i have to admit just let the number count up bc of that :P, too lazy to click all the updated games anyway and well using Galaxy myself so no need to check manually for updates ^^

That update notification (mixed with replies) will haunt you at some point.
Mine is at 110 now -_-
