i beat this game in 2008 if i remember correctly and now i wanted to try it again! but i didn't remember that using a scope on my pistol cancels the laser sight for ever! so now i'm stuck with a stupid pistol as my main weapon, i can't even snipe properly at long range because the aim moves and even if i maxed out accuracy mods on it, i still don't aim good enough for headshots at close range. i just fought ghermann for the first time when he captures me, constantly running around one of those pillars in the subway station to avoid his fire. i thought he'd die so i wasted lots of med kits! but then i remembered i'll have to fight him again later on when he'll really die but i don't have a boss weapon for that fight yet - like an assault gun. and no more skill points either! basically i just have to start the game from scratch! :(((((((((( there should be a section of the forum for popular games with things that players should know so they don't make mistakes like this!

For the record, I've beaten the game without using guns, and essentially without using any weapon at all whatsoever. Need to start the game over? Yeah, no. Want to start the game over? Why not, your choice.

Whenever I found one of those one shot rocket launchers I always kept it with me no matter what. Made short work of all the boss fights, including Herman. In fact, I blew him up without even talking to him that one last time. The trick is aiming it in such a way that it kills the shit out of them without killing you also.
