I was addicted to a few atari games my favorite was yars revenge in the dark the colors lit the room and the sound for it was classic arcade,,, pitfall and alantis which was a modern clone of missle command was cool too...

I thought I knew them all but I'll be damned if I missed that one.

That does not look like a remake at all. Seems more like a case of trademarked name recycling to me.

Looks like you don't know them all though since there is at least one more Atari 2600 game that got a (real) remake.

Pitfall, missile Command, Yar's Revenge, Berserk, Breakout, Joust, Defender, Congo Bongo, Dig Dug, Frogger, Ms. Pacman, Space Invaders, Sinistar, Warlords

If I was running the company clothing itself in Atari's dead skin and I wanted to remake the old hits, I'd take a cue from Atari's own Tempest 2000 and later games like Pac-Man Championship Edition - don't radically change anything, but take the core gameplay and presentation and extrapolate from that, classic yet modern. Yar's Revenge as a rail shooter is simply not Yar's Revenge.
