So I e-mailed them to ask about the gamepad issue I was having and also to ask about any future WayForward titles on GOG.com, this is what the rep had to sat about this last question:
Thank you for contacting WayForward Support. We're trying GOG to see how we like it, and how well our games sell there, so we'll see!
So ya, the current Shantae game we got is a test pilot to see if the community of GOG.com dig their games, so let's not disappoint them.

Don't worry about it, it was just a bumpy bad joke.

Guess you had to be there.
I bought it day 1 so I did my part.
Please let them know that whether or not they like it here, we like them being here!
Unfortunately, WayForward games are the kinda thing I like on my Wii U for the most part and on home/handheld console. Having that been said, welcome to ya and I like DarkStalkers, with BlazBklue is my favorite 2D fighting game series.
I've done my part! Have you?

high rated
I hate when a developer does this, it dismisses long-tail sales and feels like a middle finger to those who did support them if they don't get whatever magical profit number they want or expect. As long as you get more money out than you put in, shouldn't you be happy more people are enjoying your games?

I did my part, but seeing the game not even break the top 100 makes me worry.

My thoughts exactly. They are a business, they should decide if it is commercially viable, its not our responsibility to support them. This kind of guilt advertising - "you didn't support us so we cant xyz" - crap needs to stop. As such I am not going to buy this game now, fecking ejits.

So your message to Way Forward is - "get back to Steam, fucking ejits!". Don't worry, keep I t up and I am sure they will get the message

Well, it's not as bad as developers who don't bother updating their game just because they didn't get a magic number. Yes, I have a few.

They are deciding if it's commercially viable. That's exactly what they said in response to a direct question to their support system. That's not guilt advertising, that's honesty.

It's only guilt advertising if the OP was in some way compelled to post this on the forum (which there's no evidence of).
