So a long while ago I used to get my manga fix from a site called mangatraders.com. I recently decided to get up-to-date on the series' I'm following, and to my horror it seems mangatraders is dead (apparently it seems it got hacked, then died).

Does anyone know a good place to download scanlations of manga that ISN'T one of those places where you read the manga on the site itself, I'd like a place where you can download the chapters/volumes in a zip.
mangatraders is back just replace .com for .org

Here's a thought. How about you just buy them?

1. I do buy quite a few series (Sidonia no Kishi, Dorohedoro, Berserk and some others), but as you might know many series haven't been localized so fan-translations are the only way to read them.
2. I like digital high-resolution scans.
3. I have two book cases and both are full, I don't intend to open my own private library either.

Not recognising the site name, my first reaction to reading the post was "shame that a legal place to purchase DRM-free digital manga went under, I would've liked to have a look at it as places to buy DRM-free comics aren't very common overall, and manga isn't exactly a large piece of that cake".
Sent you a link in chat.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound so harsh, but that's a touchy subject for me. I have a couple of friends who lost their jobs in publishing (and yes specifically Manga) due to online piracy. And truth be told you do kind of have a reputation for pirating stuff.
www.fakku.net

They have their own esports sponsorships now even.

FYI, don't go to fakku.net on your work computer. Or ever.

Why am I not surprised that the the guy happy to help our resident racist is the guy who uses homophobic slurs? You make a wonderful couple :)
I just did a search for cbr manga buy, with the intention of discovering places where I could buy digital mangas legally. No dice. Considering that digital comics has existed for over a decade, is it a wonder that piracy exist when the content can't be legally aquired?

Lots of comic readers are not collectors. They just wants to read and be entertained. Here, a quick download - or online reading - is the best solution. It was the pirates who did the actual work of scanning the comics, inventing the .cbr/.cbz format and coding the CDisplay reader. The publishers have never tried to compete, but have granted the pirates monopol status.

Crunchyroll sell digital manga but as you can see ([url=http://www.crunchyroll.com/comics/manga]http://www.crunchyroll.com/comics/manga) their collection is pathetically small.

There are some stores offer DRM-free comics (I've seen cbz archives, epub, and pdf). Comixology is one of them - only a subset of the comics they sell are available for download, depending on what the publisher says, but still, some can be downloaded and used wherever you wish without a connection, and the site does tell you (on the page for each issue, though not collections) so it's possible to check before purchase.
While i only buy games here on gog with paysafecard i wonder why the same can't be done for manga and anime to buy online with something like that.
