sunshinecorp: Yeah I know. I actually own the module as well, but never run it because of that.
Cool, just wanted to give you a heads-up in case you weren't aware. I personally loved the game, but if you want more than just drawn-out turn-based combat you won't really find it in this one. :)

Hehe, then I guess I'll skip trying to play it after all. :D

tinyE: Never had a problem with it, probably because I always play swordsmen and thieves.
It doesn't matter what you play as. Oblivion's levelling system is idiotic because you'll only encounter NPCs and monsters at the same level as you. That's really bad design but can be improved with a mod.

If you liked Morrowind up to this point you shouldn't give up on it because there are a lot of people who prefer it over Oblivion. Its just a matter of preference. I enjoy both games a lot.

Matewis: By the time of my first oblivion gate, the enemies were basically unstoppable :P
My experience was the opposite. I was a weakling but the enemies were weaklings as well, there was no variety in them. Only guards were at a higher level and they were the ones asking for my help. That was really idiotic and immersion breaking.

About the unstoppable enemies: Why didn't you just decrease the difficulty setting?

I kind of really don't like adjusting the difficulty of a game once I start playing. If I start on normal or whatever, then I want to finish on that difficulty. It's been many years though since I first played it, and honestly I don't think I even thought of changing the difficulty in any case. From what I can recall, I stopped playing because I realized how I unknowingly messed up the definition of my custom class by not understanding how the unintuitive leveling system works.

LiefLayer: Morrowind - 2 out of 10 - mmo like quests, story is not interesting, it's just not fun. combat are too easy. but the world is big... but it's also really "empty" of interesting thing.

snowkatt: thats how i feel about morrowind as well
boring bland ugly and empty
1. The empty feeling comes from the Ashlands. But the other lands are chalk full of life. Also you should play with the Draw Distance increased.

2.MMO-Like quest? In the end of the Fighter's Guild quest I had the choice of killing every single member of the fighter's guild that is clearly corrupt and in-league with a Criminal Organization or follow through with the Corruption and protect the organization.

3. Obviously the uglyness comes from the Oldness of the Graphics, but places like Vivec? Mournhold, and Solstheim's Ice Castle is Ugly?

4. You lost this arguement saying this game is empty of Content :P

Man (or katt), even my hate of Skyrim is rational in that I know what needs to be improved in order for me to like it. That may be more work than making an excellent new game but I don't deny it.

Your hate of Morrowind is irrational and your arguments have never been constructive, so please either change that or stop trolling.

not my problem that my arguments are somehow not "valid" in your eyes

if i dont like a game then i dont like a game and i dont have to validate my opinion to you or anybody else

but morrowind is still boring... I really don't understand how can someone play it for more than 30 minutes.
with many games you just want to play all the day (the witcher, shadowrun, fallout, bioshock etc...) with morrowind I need to stop because it's too boring.

I get that with most Bethesda games. Not all, but most.
I heard Arcanum and ToEE have many bugs. Are their GOG versions fixed?

Azhdar: I heard Arcanum and ToEE have many bugs. Are their GOG versions fixed?
Arcanum crashed a few times, and i think there were a few side quests that became unsolvaable if you do the wrong thing, plenty of saves can take care of this

ToEE is buggy as hell right out of the box (or download) yopu absolutly need the Circle of 8 modpack, it fixes all the bugs, and adds a few things, even a seperate stand alone campaign, Keep on the Boarder Lands

I played Oblivion, the scaling difficulty eventually got the better of my character. Every fight i actually won was by the skin of my teeth. It got to the point were my character was getting beat down by goblins, and i could not progress.

I started Skyrim, got busy with work and stopped playing, ill pick it back up one of these days.
