I own one as well as the older model that looks like an SNES controller (I retired that one in favor of SN30 Pro+) and I use it for 2d platformers and Mega man style games because of the superior d-pad to that of the Xbox-one Elite controller (1st Gen). I also use the controller for emulation of Nintendo consoles as well since it is perfect for that as well. One great feature of the SN30 Pro + is they have triggers similar to the Xbox-one/360/PS3/PS4 controllers.
