BlackMageJ: Assassin's Creed 2 and Might & Magic X have online features?

MegisED: I think AC2 has some gear unlocks for Ubisoft's loyalty points, but that's about it.
unless you want to count the DRM it originally came with :)
Remember when diggers found AC2 details on GOG?

I bet Ubisoft has plans for a Ubi account exclusive AC2 remaster now and that's why nothing came of that...

I bought that game full price soon after release, but I cracked it so hard it wasn't even funny. I genuinely had issues connecting to the servers, it was a pain in the arse and I was so happy to be rid of it.

Swedrami: My bet's rather on "Ubisoft doesn't want to release on GoG" (anymore).
Same with EA.
Because they make so little money here compared to Steam and their respective services; because they can't track and get user info here; and other reasons?

but of course many of us thought we'd never get Konami games here, Blizzard, etc.

wolfsite: or has Ubisoft just forgotten about GOG?
avatar
Ancient-Red-Dragon: They certainly haven't "forgotten" about GOG, since GOG is undoubtedly sending them money every month for all the Ubisoft games that are already on here.

More accurate to say: they just don't care about GOG.

And since GOG takes a 30% cut, same as Steam, and Ubisoft has been flipping the bird to Steam over the last few years by not releasing any new games there, there is probably no way Ubisoft would release "new" games on GOG any more, even if they are old games.
It's kind of weird to me how they even gave away Assassin's Creed II for free on Uplay but don't want to bring it here. I mean selling a game minus a 30 % cut is still more profitable than not making money at all, particularly among a crowd of people who would rather pay for a DRM-free version than just claim the DRM'd version for free on Uplay. Ubisoft's decisions don't make sense to me.

I'm pretty sure it comes down to 'We made AC2 online dependent and we're too lazy to remove the DRM'.
