Take a moment of your time to check new titles from Meridian4 publisher that have just arrived on GOG:

Avencast (-90%)
Night Lights (-50%)
The Silent Age (-80%)

Play these fantastic titles before their discounts expire on 31st January 2022, at 2 PM UTC.
Avencast looks interesting. Might as well grab it for a buck.
Does Avencast have randomized maps or enemies?
I haven't played any of the games, but I read somewhere, probably in this thread, that they are supposed to be pretty good.
Checked a few reviews of Avencast, the one on WorthPlaying seems quite thorough and balanced.

Really don't see why it's listed as roguelike on here though, based on that.

DoomSooth: Avencast looks kind of neat. I wonder why it's so cheap.
Maybe because it's older and/or because it's a bit on the short side**? Either way, it's a decent enough game.
(**I beat my copy from another site awhile back playing a few hours per day for a week or two)

(note: Avencast is also dependent on key[arrows/wasd] combos for the combat moves, with better moves needing more key presses. Just listing this in case some have trouble with such button pressing, so they know beforehand)

UCrest: A pity that The Chosen: Well of Souls is not among these titles.
That is indeed a good game....hope Gog(or even Zoom) gets it soon :)

honglath: I believe you had to cast each spell manually with your mouse or... not?
Key(wasd/arrows) combos, actually.

IronArcturus: Does Avencast have randomized maps or enemies?
The maps/areas & gameplay are more or less the same each time....well besides which school of magic(body/mind) one decides to specialize in at some point in the game(which then affects how easy/hard it is to learn some spells/moves/etc).

GOG.com: ...
I appreciate GOG bringing these older-ish games.
Avencast and Night Lights both looked interesting to me. After reading some reviews, I'll give Avancast a try at that price (some people don't like it but most seem to think it is decent quality) but not Night Lights, which has reviews describing it as short, not making particularly good use of the main mechanic, and buggy to the extent that you can lose progress (could possibly have been fixed at some point).

Something posessed me to get Out of Line at the winter sale and it was really bad. I think I just remembered a minor aspect of the demo that I liked while forgetting that the level design was not good at all (and not knowing that the demo is like 1/3 of the game, although I think I would have just stopped playing if it was any longer). Hopefully Night Lights is at least a bit better, but without a demo to try I'm staying away for a while.

looks like somebody pulled the plug too soon on these discounts? they're back to their full prices, as of this writing

Yes, just went to buy it and see it is now full price. Hopefully this'll be fixed soon.

The discounts should appear again soon!
There exists a demo for Avencast:
https://www.moddb.com/games/avencast-rise-of-the-mage/downloads/avencast-rise-of-the-mage-demo-1-09
Just a PSA for The Silent Age:

I just bought it and couldn't get it running at all. Immediate crash to desktop no matter what I did.

A bit of googling brought me to this thread:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/352520/discussions/0/1696046342864092504/

A few users there reported problems with the game clearing up when they disconnected their gamepad. I thought it might be a coincidence, but it was easy enough to try.

And it worked. If you're having problems starting the game, give it a go.

tl;dr: The game contains a bug where it refuses to run if certain controllers are connected to the PC. If having problems, try disconnecting all controllers.
