I'm looking for a new light 2D platformer that I can run smoothly on my Android phone. For this type of game I'm not expecting a deep storyline or fancy graphics, just something to kill some time. I'm interested in games with simple and comfortable controls and a fun game design, but that are not too time-demanding.

I've already been playing:
- Sword of Xolan
- Super Dangerous Dungeons

Any recommendations?

Giana Sisters is IMO very cool - plays really well even on cheap smartphone using touch screen only. Disclaimer - it's not android version of this "remake" of Giana Sisters on PC, but separate game (a bit closer to original).

I really enjoyed Sonic 1 and Sonic 2, but I've played in those older versions, made from the scratch by Taxman and Stealth, not sure how does they work after this transition into "Sega Classics" series.

Let's see, I don't actually have any platformers installed, probably because I slammed down Libretro and that was it.
Spelunky classic hd for android:

Thanks for the suggestions!

Of all of them, I have tried Sonic, but it was so unstable (the app would stop working for days at a time) I gave up. Maybe I should give it another chance.
I'm not really a fan of ported games on the android that use an on-screen joystick for movement.
If someone has examples of android 2d platformers that DON'T use on-screen joysticks, and instead have a better or at least more interesting interaction method, I'd appreciate them sharing that!

An example I can think of is BADLAND, although I'm not sure you'd consider that a traditional platformer. Is an engaging game, however, and a good timesink.
I can recommend the following games, as I've finished and enjoyed them:
- Goo Saga (can be difficult though)
- Leo's Fortune (one of the best android platformers I've ever played, very smooth controls and interesting gameplay)
- Continuity 2 (more about puzzles then platforming though)
- Stealth Bastard Deluxe
- VVVVVV

I believe (but I'm not 100% sure) none of them contain IAP so that's good too. If you want to pick just one from the list I would go for Leo's Fortune.
