Hello,

My brother brought to my attention the poster design used on Steam for your anniversary.
First of all, congratulations (sto let to you!)

Secondly, the thing is that my brother sees in the big red poster with golden caligraphy a design that strongly resembles communistic posters/flags/whatnot and needed to voice his opinion, which got deleted (twice).

My opinion is that it has nothing to do with communism (red comes obviously from the company's name and gold letters look good on it), but because his comments got deleted, instead of disproving by a reply, he is convinced you want to please the Chinese community. My brother is no troll, he just hates communism.

Can I get an honest reply/opinion on it, please?

I know it's silly talking about this, you have better things to do, but on the other hand, deleting comments instead of setting them straight, does remind me of the time when freedom of speech was nonexistent (or is it Steam that deleted them?).

Thank you and have a nice day.

Why here, why not on CD Projekt Red's forum?
Looks like another one of those "I come to GOG to post the same nonsense that got me in trouble on Steam" threads.

because it is not communisim, which would be closer to pop art and propaganda art, this image is really neither (by the way, the font here is not caligraphy). what would have made it communist art would be the subject of the poster, this is not the subject here. it is not only communisim that use propagandaist art.

red has many meanings beside communism - such as love, anger, herosim, sensualism and so on. the meaning of a colour depends on the context which it is used within. if your brother sees an image like this and only thinks "COMMUNISM!!!", then that is more telling about your brother than it is about the art.

(by the way, there is extremly little in this image reminecent of Soviet or Chinese communist propaganda art, just google it and you will see)

edit - red is one of CDProject Red (it is even in the name). brand colours if you look at the firebird logo, it is red

edit 2 - something that emmluates the propaganist art would be something like this: https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steamcommunity/public/images/items/18500/bfdf2896bf65b59e70b4923dbcdb4635f8bb1044.jpg
thought there is not a single use of red here

Aside from the fact that CDPR's logo has nothing to do with politics, "Political discussions not related to a video game are not permitted." Locking.
