FearfulSymmetry: Um, right here? :P There are some women around this forum, and there are plenty of female gamers in real life as well.
Indeed there are, this forum has actually given me a lot of hope for finding a girl that enjoys playing videos games as much as I do. :)

Falkenherz: I'm looking at the flash deals, and all the games that I'm interested in are already marked as owned. Man, I really gotta catch up with playing some of the unplayed games in my library. I wish I just could buy more lifetime somewhere.
avatar
dremulator: it's nice that we have the sale, but one thing that's starting to get slightly annoying is the games i paid £3.20 for a few hours ago, are after a while up on the front page for £1.29 or 4.03 Euro (see attached gif for hilarity)

and yes they should sell more years for your life (i'm in my forties and will probably have to live well into my nineties to be able to get through the one's i've bought lol )

ohwell i'm sure theirs more that will take my fancy (i wish they would put 'The Vanishing of Ethan Carter' up on sale )
Well, one strategy is to wait and see if the games you want come around in the flash sales. Then, if you haven't seen them around the 25th, you can buy the ones you still want for the 50% discount.

Precisely! And besides, even if some women aren't into gaming yet, you might well be able to introduce them to it! Many of my female friends also got into video games after I borrowed them some.

inc09nito: I hate when games I want to avoid are bundled with titles I'd love to play. I have been waiting and waiting to buy Valdis Story for a long time, but it ALWAYS comes with the game that looks terrible to me, namely Un-Epic.
Ask to trade it with someone, last time I managed to get Dust and Valdis and skip the rest.

Spaz and Sacred2.. has anyone played them? Comments?

FearfulSymmetry: Haha, it's okay. I assume there's a comparable idiom in German? I can see how that might lead to some confusion.
avatar
Soccorro: yes "sitzung"
That expression is more widespread than you'd think.Think about its meaning and you'll realize it's pretty much universal.

"Sentada".
avatar
godtrams: hmhm, confused anyway ;). I'm only interested in offline LAN (for me and my wife) and, for example, the description of the older Sacred still shows multiplayer/co-op ability for LAN, Sacred 2 does not. So still wondering because in the description of other games, GOG always refered to disabled online servers but also mentioned the offline functionality.

Soccorro: omg where do you find those female gamers!?
She found me, btw.;) slayed to ground in Everquest decades ago *HA!*

Yes, we have a similar thing in Dutch, although personally I don't use it much.

That is actually true for both male or female, sometimes all it takes is to introduce them to a really good game and then they are immersed in the wonderful world of interactive entertainment. :)

Yep, you're totally right about that. I'm still on a mission to get all of my friends into gaming. :)

Sacred 2. Great RPG. Story isn't that great but its all about the hack n slash and the loot (lots of!). Nice graphics especially if you can get the *high graphics* option to work (havent installed the GOG version yet but i have the CE on disk and also copies on gamersgate and the evil empire store).
avatar
MWink: Valdis Story has been on sale, by itself, as low as $3.75.
avatar
inc09nito: Uhmmm... no? I do not recall that and I do enter GOG website _every_ day.

avatar
MWink: I am curious why you think UnEpic looks bad? I loved it.
avatar
inc09nito: I heard it has an awkward sense of humour. Screenshots (not to mention the cover) look rather bad to my taste. Also the concept (main character and plot) sounds indeed unepic. Overall seems to be a cheap and trashy indie game.
May 13, 2014 Spring Insomnia Sale. Pretty sure it was one of those limited stock flash sales.

Yes, UnEpic has a weird story and sense of humor but who cares? Just skip the rare story dialogue. I'm more interested in the gameplay, which I found quite good. I realize it's not for everyone and if you think the gameplay screenshots look bad then maybe it's not for you but I definitely wouldn't call it a "cheap and trashy indie game". It's a very solid platformer.

BTW, does anyone know if this sale will have multiple passes on the flash sales? I was pondering Pathologic (for $2) but I just couldn't make up my mind. It looks like something I'd either love or hate and I'm not sure which. I also know that it has a remake coming eventually.
I hope there is going to be an Insomnia Sale soon cause the speed of this sale is killing me (snail pace).

While I wish for insomnia I think there won't be one this year, next one will probably Christmas sale :-(

Yeah you are probably right unless we get a Christmas Insomnia :)
