I can't seem to find any suggestions on this. Greta/Alwan have "creation" style attributes. We're around Level 10 now, and I've been using Alwan strictly for melee and Greta strictly for magic-based ranged attacks, but I feel like (aside from having personalities) they're really not more than just creations because they aren't capable of anything other than some extra fire-power during fights.

Where should I put their points when they level-up? Greta's hit percentage hasn't been all that great in her firebolt(?) attacks, so I keep raising her Dex, but it doesn't seem to be helping a whole lot. My pc (a Guardian) is hitting everything in melee (so I'd assume I'm at 95%) but Greta is missing the same targets with around 60-70%.

I can't help but feel like I'm using Greta wrong somehow.

Yes, you are doing wrong. Put all the points in strength. Strength determines the damage and hit chance of creations.
BTW, Alwan sucks in late game, at least in the highest difficulty. Greta is doing fine but you will lose her sooner or later if you are pro-shaper.
Greta can attack multiple targets, and is ranged. You will have problem in keeping Alwan alive, and his damage is pathetic.
See, now that confuses me greatly about creations. It says in the manual that Str adds "a damage bonus" and that Dex helps "land blows of it's own...very useful for missile based creatures." That really makes it sounds like "Str = damage, Dex = to hit." It also makes it sound like Greta would want Dex since she fires off a ranged missile attack. So if what you're saying is correct, then why is it written incorrectly in the manual? That's awfully misleading!

But now I'm also confused when you say Greta can attack multiple targets. The only attacks I've gotten out of her are single melee strike and single missile attack. Am I missing even more about how to use her??

For player character, strength for melee, dex for missile, int for magic (so if Greta is a PC, you should boost Int instead of strength for dexterity). For creations, strength for everyone.

Both Alwan and Greta can get two upgrade from later quests. But the improvement of Alwan is pathetic.
