Currently playing through the Geneforge series; really enjoyed the first two games and am appreciating the improvements to the third installment.

New feature that I noticed: the days are counted and displayed on the world map when one moves between areas. Hopefully this is informational, and the game has no time limits.

Just wondering if there are consequences for taking a long time, but no point in answering if doing so will be a spoiler. I think I will be okay with learning the hard way. :-)

There are no consequences in any of the games that I am aware of tied to the time that has passed, and certainly not in Geneforge 3.

Thanks for your response. Sometimes I stress over the passage of time in games.

Geneforge 3 is the best because you get hirelings that function very much like a creation would. Does anyone know if there is a chance that any of the other Geneforge games have hirelings like Arcanum where you can hire them and trick them into staying? I know that G3 is unique but so far this has been a hell of a lot of fun. If anyone knows spread the truth.

You can recruit 1 companion from the side you're on in GF4. The shaper one comes way too late to be of any use (second to last 'chapter'). You need to be enough pro rebel/shaper to recruit them. In GF4 you can also recruit rebel soldiers third chapter to deal with a menace (you pretty much have to get past some obstacles). Don't know about GF5 (other than that there's temporary companion at start same way there's one in GF4 and no you can't keep either. Both leave no matter what you do at certain point.).

I did not hire either companion in GF4 so don't know if they're as talkative as Greta and Alwan from GF3. You can keep them for entire campaign even after going full rebel/shaper? (I skipped GF3 after I found I was forced to do things I did not want to do just because I has picked up an object in second island. Might try again after GF5. At least I now know to avoid picking the item up.). Did they appear in the epilogue if you kept them around?
