FYI in case anyone else has the same trouble I did. I installed via GOG Galaxy and for whatever reason clicking "Play" would not start the game. I instead went to More -> Other -> Gauntlet (unsupported 64-bit) and that launched fine. After that Play worked (but I'm probably going to stick with 64 bit; not sure right now).

Some additional background info that might matter: I purchased the DLC and it was installed automatically before I hit Play the first time. Thinking that might be the issue, I unchecked it in Galaxy and let it uninstall. Then I did the 64-bit launch. I've readded the DLC and everything still works.

I'm gonna bump this simply because I had a similar issue. I don't have the DLC, but the game initially wouldn't boot up for me, it's just be a black screen that forced me to restart my PC. However, the More -> Other -> Gauntlet (unsupported 64-bit) fix worked for me. I guess this game is even pickier than most about starting in 32 or 64 bit mode.
