Hey everyone i bought Gangsters yesterday and tried to play it
it launched without problems but when i finished the intro's there were no
words in the menu controls so i couldn't play

I've got the exact same problem and have no idea how to fix it
It doesn't work on Win 8 at all, it says on the store page.

It might not have newer titles/might be wrong now. Check game forums before buying.

Not eligible as Windows 8 isn't a supported OS.
Ah, I wish I had known that before I bought the game.
I guess next time I'll make sure to pay closer attention to what they write on their page.

While it might not be what you're looking for VirtualBox might be a solution to your problem.
Essentially it allows you to run a virtual computer on your actual computer, so, say, you could run Windows XP in a small window on your desktop, play old games there etc.

That's how I handle old games at the moment, it evens out all the hickups modern OSs have with them :)
