Hi, I can load the game, but when i do all of the menus are blank making it very difficult to actually do anything.

Any idea how to resolve this?

I am on Windows 10 (anniversary ed), nvidia graphics card. Tried various comparability modes with no luck.

I have this same problem. Had it with Windows 8 and still have it with Windows 10. I thought I was going to get around it by playing in MagicDOSBox on my Kindle, but Gangsters was designed for Windows and I'm not going to load that on my limited disk space device, so that shot that idea. Now I'm back to trying to get it to run in Windows 10 again (I last attempted it several months ago, so I don't remember what I've tried and what I haven't).

Since all the button menus in Gangsters have text labels only, it's hard to say whether the problem has to do with the way images in general are displayed on the buttons, or whether it's something to do with the fonts. If someone knows a fix or can suggest something to try, it would be greatly appreciated, believe me.

Edit: I tried all the compatibility modes windows 10 offers. none of them works but at least I was able to display some text after clicking and holding on an icon above (at least in the start menus).

The game is not compitable with Windows 8 or 10. Gog says so on the game's store page. There is no solution,. short of going the VM route.

Elisha's fix works for me. Just google "Elisha's gangsters organized crime" and one of her links pops up. You basically download two small files and drop them into where the gangsters .exe is.

I also had to check mark all low end options for compatibility mode for the screens to both be visable and clickable. I found that by only using Elisha's files, the menu items displayed correctly but I couldn't click on the buttons for some reason.

Also, as I'm sure others have mentioned, you have to run in admin mode.

It worked for me with WIndows 10, just recently have not been able to play it. If it never worked with newer Windows, why did it for for months?
