I'm finding that the Mac version that I've bought simply doesn't launch when I run it. Instead I get the error:

Couldn't load .s86 file: […]Galaxy Trucker Extended Edition/Galaxy Trucker.app/Contents/Resources/GalaxyTrucker_gog.s86. Error dlopen([…]Galaxy Trucker Extended Edition/Galaxy Trucker.app/Contents/Resources/GalaxyTrucker_gog.s86, 10): Library not loaded: @rpath/libGalaxy.dylib
Referenced from: […]Galaxy Trucker Extended Edition/Galaxy Trucker.app/Contents/Resources/GalaxyTrucker_gog.s86
Reason: image not found

I've replaced the initial parts of the pathname, relating to my own system, with […].

It'd be nice if whoever created GOG's Mac version could look into this.
Thanks for reporting this.

Could you please specify what Mac OS version and what hardware are you running?

This is on a 27" Retina iMac (first-generation 5K model, late 2014). I'm running the last version of Sierra (10.12.6) on this machine.

Could you please try to update the Mac OS version to 10.13 or later? It seems like there is a problem with older Mac OS versions specifically on GOG. We will change the minimum requirements on the store pages.

Sorry for this inconvenience.

OK, thanks. I'm keeping my main machine on 10.12 for the moment for software compatibility reasons, but I'll test the game on my laptop, which I don't normally use for gaming but which has 10.14 installed.

Hi,

OK, I've now tested the game on my laptop running Mojave, and I'm pleased to say that it works just fine on that.

HOWEVER, I was surprised and disappointed, on first launch, to be presented with the OS dialogue announcing that the game needs to be updated in order to be compatible with future OS versions.

In other words, this is still a 32-bit app, and it won't run on Catalina, which only supports 64-bit apps. Given that Catalina is due to be launched next month, that's a pretty short shelf-life for this game! I sincerely hope that there'll be a 64-bit update for it soon… along with as many other games as possible in the existing Mac catalogue. 64-bit support is essential for future usability.

I'm glad it works on your other device.

We are aware of the future Mac OS update requiring to run only 64-bit applications and we are already working on bringing this functionality for our games.
