Sometimes, when I'm playing the subtitles appear, and the game waits about 5 seconds to start the voices, and after I skip that it waits another 5 seconds for the next guy to talk. The other audio doesn't delay. It doesn't really matter with subtitles, but I'd prefer to hear the voices. When I'm in questioning mode, this never happens, it's only while I'm in an area. And, it only seems to happen in certain areas. For example, the voices delay in the bar, and in one quarter of the park, but not at the book store or the Voodoo museum. Any suggestions?

Be careful, though; once you apply the patch you can't use your old savegames. Still, it's probably worth a try, just remember to backup the original files before.

Actually the gog version is already patched

You could try a different graphics renderer from the start menu folder of the game. Its possible that one of them will make the game run smoother and get rid of this voice delay.

What about the .config file for the game any sound options you can play about with in there that might help?

It will be in the folder you installed the game to. So default would be C:\Program files\gog\gabriel knight or something close to that.

I cannot duplicate this. Do you have any problems with it with the subtitles turned off? Could you post the contents of your RESOURCE.CFG and dosbox.conf files?

I just got this problem today. I reached Day 4 last night. When I reloaded the game today, I started having this problem with the voiceovers being delayed a few seconds.
