Hi all, managed to mount directory and execute sierra.exe in dosbox which brings up the game. However if i click intro the game crashes resulting in this error message:
We're sorry, you have encounted (sic) an internal game error.
Please restart your game and restore a saved game.
If you have continuing problems, please report the following
information to Sierra Custoemr Service:
Error Number: 999
190:145
Also, if i load the main game it loads up fine. The puzzling thing is that although sound effects (door closing, gabriel pouring himself coffee, etc) do work, the voice does not. This means that dialogue flashes along the bottom of the screen but is gone before i can read it.
Any help appreciated, thankyou very much

Niaboc: Also, if i load the main game it loads up fine.

By main game do you mean the shortcut gog supplys with the game?
blah. thanks Ralackk.
everything works fine using the shortcuts added to start menu by the installer, etc.
I was going in through dosbox somehow and manually opening the game

No problem, that will be the same for all gog games, using dosbox, scumm or whatever. The shortcut is targeted towards config files and the like to make the game run properly on a modern system, saving you from all that annoying dosbox tweaking yourself.
And just found out how to do it for my CD version of the game. Now if only I knew how to get rid of the audio artifacts.

I've got this same problem and I AM running from the shortcut which activates DOSBOX.

Intro crashes after a brief interval of sound, dialogue doesn't play, and text goes whizzing by.

Any help appreciated.
