I recall that the original CD version of GK1 from Sierra had an SVGA version on it as well as a VGA version. Is the SVGA version available on GOG (or any other modern source)?

(I know the 20th Anniversary version of GK1 has even better graphics, but I have to agree with those that say it has much worse gameplay. I understand the pressures Jane was under when she created the 20th Anniversary version, but given my say at this point, I'd rather play the original.)

For a refresher, I recommend the Gabriel Knight Omnipedia. Included is an article on Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers comparisons.

I'm sorry. I don't think this Omnipedia answered my questions. I believe Sierra included both VGA and SVGA versions of Gabriel Knight 1 on their CD version. I believe GOG has the CD version of the original game.

My original question still stands: can you play the SVGA version of the original Sierra CD-ROM GK1 on GOG?

The CD-ROM version is playable on GOG and uses the hi-res mode of the CD-ROM.
