Hi everyone,

I've just bought the first game of the serie after hearing so much good about it, but I didn't realise this game does not have any subtitle. My English is reasonably decent, but as a grouchy French I thought my life would be a bit easier with some subtitles (English subtitles would be good enough!).

Is there anything that can be done about this? I've already seen that the French version is available on another website (too late...) but I wouldn't want to pay the game twice.

Hi, Alex.

It is, indeed, possible to activate subtitles -- also recommended, especially if you're not a native US-EN speaker, even more so due to the fact most characters have a heavy Louisiana accent. Just go to Options (move your mouse to the top of the screen and a menu will show up), then select Text On -- the default is Off. You can only do this as soon as the game starts, which means the first cutscene won't have subtitles. You can skip the cutscene by pressing the spacebar, but I'd advise against it, since it contains important plot elements.

I'm attaching two screenshots to help you better enable subtitles.

I hope you enjoy the game, it's one of those genre classics no fan should miss. It's a bit hard, at times, and can get frustrating, but that's just how point & click adventures go! :-P

In my opinion, it's the best of the trilogy, I wish you a great time with it.
